ADVENTURES IN SCANDINAVIAN MOUNTAINS AND FORESTS

Hi and welcome to us! We are Lars and Elin and the owner of the company and website Scandinavia Adventure Travels.
What we do?
Scandinavia Adventure Travels is our way or tool to share our passion for outdoorlife in the Scandinavian mountains and forest with you. We do this by sharing stories from our own adventures and by offering guided tours over one or several days.
Where to find us?
You found this web page so in a sense you have already achieved success. We are also on social media and believe it or not but also in real life. On social media, we can be found on Instagram @scandinaviaadveturetravels and @larssvanerudguide. In real life, we live in northern Dalarna at the foot of the mountain Fjätervålen. Here we have our base camp, which we always return to after our own adventures or tours with our guests.

LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN- but first
Our thoughts about sustainability
We are a small business located in Dalarna, Sweden close to the border of Norway. Most of our guided tours are located to were we live and the region we know really well, where we pay our taxes, by our food and where we are a part of the local community. We think this is fundamental to running a sustainable business in the travel industry. But with that said you will also see that we do adventures in other destinations and offer guided tours in handpicked areas in Scandinavia. To all of our start and end points you can travel by car, train, or bus. You can rent most of the equipment you need from us or our local partners.
Let’s GO
Learn more about our destinations
This is how it works. We have carefully selected destinations that we know well and have a long relationship with. We aim for places where we can have both summer and winter tours. We want you to also get to know the area during your visit and that you choose a destination you want to experience and not just based on the current activity.

DALARNA, HÄRJEDALEN AND JÄMTLAND MOUTAINAREA, SWEDEN AND NORWAY
This is our home area. The south of Sapmi, close to the border of Norway. This destination includes several nationalparks and nature reserves which gives the opportunity for a completely unique nature on both the Swedish and Norwegian side of the border.

SAREK, PADJELANTA, STORASJÖFALLET NATIONAL PARKS AND ITS NEARBY SURROUNDINGS, SWEDEN AND NORWAY

KEBNEKAISE AND ABISKO AREA, SWEDEN AND NORWAY
The area from the big lake Torne träsk in the north and down to the big lake Akkajaure in the south is a total strait line distance, 100 km. To the west it stretches into Norway and east to miles of Lapland forests. Several hiking and wintertrails run through the area, the most famous is the Kingstrail (Kungsleden). In the central parts the mountains are high and here we also find Sweden’s highest mountain, Kebnekaise

YOUR OWN CHOICE
Do you have an idea about an area you want to experience and want to do it together with us. Do not hesitate to ask. As we said before we have been almost everywhere in the Scandinavian mountains and if we think we are not the best for you, we very likely, have someone in our network who is

A SOLID FOUNDATION
Certified guides
We only work with guides who have the right certification for guidning in Scandinavian Mountains and for the current activity. We also ensure that they have good local knowledge of the area in question in order to provide our customers with the best possible quality
Member of VISITA
We are members of VISITA which is a Swedish organization for the travel and tourism industry. We have a statutory travel guarantee for package tours
What about food
Food, energy and fluids are an important part of a multiday adventure. we want it to be easy to carry, provide enough energy for the task, taste good and include elements of local specialties
Equipment
We use equipment that we we know works for the conditions we travel in. You can rent the most of what you need from us and our partners.
Safety
We work with riskmanagement in every step from planning and when we are out in the mountains. Our guides are certified SFLO Mountainleader and have education in first aid, avalanche security and riskmanagement
Sustainability
We have chosen to specialize in the mountains and forests of the Scandinavian mountain range. This is where we live and have a long relationship with the places, nature and people. With this as a base, we have greater opportunities to make sustainable decisions, contribute to the local community and minimize our negative impact on the environment and climate.
